While each photographic workshop or tour is different, you can expect to cover the following and more:
• Finding and approaching birds and how to see and set up shots.
• Designing the image: Composition, pose, perspective and background.
• Seeing and working with different lighting conditions.
• Exposure theory covering all metering techniques and what to use when.
• Sharpness and long lens technique, converters and extension tubes.
• Action and flight photography techniques.
• Equipment: When to use what and how to work with what you have.
• Flash: Covering both fill-flash and flash-as-main and when and how to use what.
• Scanning, digital darkroom basics, tips and techniques and much more!
Greg’s workshops are kept small so a high level of personalized instruction is available for all skill levels. This enables each bird photo workshop to be tailored for the individual needs of the participants. Smaller groups also minimize the disturbance on the birds while maximizing the photographic opportunities for the photographers. The end result is a better value for your money and time and a more enjoyable photo workshop experience. E.J. Peiker is proud to announce the continuation of the highly successful DuckShop™ Photo Workshops. These workshops take participants to areas where great shots of waterfowl as well as other species of birds are possible. Each workshop includes an evening of instruction, lunchtime photo critiques for digital photographers and hands on in the field instruction for novices through advanced photographers. Current offerings are in the western United States and will be expanding in the future. These workshops are reasonably priced and many do not require the large 500 and 600mm lenses.
DuckShops™ range from 1 ½ day workshops to week-long photograqphic journeys that will bring you in close contact with beautiful wild birds and allow you to get many great photographs. The DuckShop™ consists of an evening of education on how to best approach and photograph these birds, instructed by E.J. Peiker. Exposure, composition, and equipment will be covered thoroughly. A slide show of the various species you are likely to encounter along with descriptions of the photographic techniques required to get them will be presented. This will be followed by morning and afternoon photo-shoots. Emphasis will be placed on the students getting maximum photographic opportunities.

We are a small photography tour company specializing in small, focused and intense Nature Photography Tours and Workshops. We beleive that in order to truly enjoy your time and get the most out of a photography tour and/or workshop you need to have small groups, and a very high ratio of instructors to participants. At Wild Nature Tours we keep our groups as small as possible, usually no more than 6 to 10 total participants and customarily 2 instructors.

Hosted by Award winning photographer (Chas) Charles Glatzer M.Photog, CPP, this is a comprehensive series of Instructional Photographic Workshops designed to enhance your visionary skills, as well as your technical execution. Special emphasis is placed on creating images with Visual Impact. Increase your proficiency while using compositional elements and light to design in-camera images that are a cut above. Charles will share the techniques that have garnered him over 40 state, national, and international awards. Every workshop from Newfoundland to New Mexico has but one goal, offering the participant the most education for the dollar.
